The necessary public health measures of physical distancing and self-isolation can be very difficult on the mental health of children and youth. This can also worsen existing mental health, substance use, and addiction concerns. Kids also experience the stress of their families during a crisis, and support is necessary. Caring for mental health is an essential service and providers are open. Parents can also access these services for their child or youth if they are feeling overwhelmed or challenged by their kid's challenges.
