Early Development Instrument

The Early Development Instrument (EDI) is a population-based measurement tool that is used as an indicator of SK students’ developmental health at the time they start school.  The survey comprises questions that measure SK students’ growth along the developmental continuum in five domains: Physical Health and Well-Being, Emotional Maturity, Social Competence, Language and Cognitive Development, and Communication Skills and General Knowledge.
